While we would never mess with perfection, we are excited to introduce something we’ve been cooking up for years, our Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrel-Aged Spicy Maple Syrup.Our original barrel-aged maple syrup meets the acclaimed ghost pepper mash responsible for the kick in another one of our gourmet must-haves, our Barrel-Aged Pepper Sauce. Bringing together two of our familiar partners, Bissell Maple Farm and Midland Ghost, for a unique syrup full of flavor and just the right amount of heat!Striking just the right balance between sweet and spicy and infused with the unmistakable bourbon like undertones of vanilla, caramel and butter with the sweet oaky heat of barrel-aged ghost peppers. Spice up your favorite recipes, drizzle over breakfast for a special twist, try a twist on a spicy margarita, give your marinades a kick or just give into that craving for spicy chicken and waffles!
What Makes Our Syrup Special:
The bourbon barrels are picked up immediately after they are dumped at the distillery. The rare barrels don't wait in a warehouse for weeks before being filled with maple syrup. They are dumped and delivered directly to our syrup partners in Jefferson, Ohio. There isn't a middleman involved in the barrels.
Once the barrels arrive, the syrup is triple barrel-aged. In other words, it takes three barrels to make a single barrel of maple syrup to capture the deep oak flavor in our maple syrup. No one else does this.
Our maple syrup partners have quality certifications that only a few have in the maple industry. The Kosher Cert from Ohio-K and 3rd Party Audit from Merieux are unique to our maple syrup.
